Have you ever heard about this other Disney cartoon called "Wander Over Yonder"? If you have, than in one episode Lord Hater (the villain) said that he once had a crush on a girl with purple hair, but was rejected by her.
So as another tie with the theory that all of Disney movies & cartoons are connected to each other, there is a possibility that Hater's old crush was Hildy. (skip to 0:58) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yf8Tko…
Obviously she didn't like Hater in favor of Grim, because she didn't want fame and/or power be shared with someone who's against love (which Hildy actually wants out of all of it), and she had more of a thing for the adorkable guys not the wannabee macho losers.
