Description
After fifteen days of adventuring and closing up void rifts, Moco had reached the first roadblock on the journey. He felt safe traveling with Quest and the other folk, but he felt something was off as they entered the forest. A few smols could be seen hanging around up in the trees. This caught Moco’s attention as most smols he had encountered were eager to make new friends. Somewhere farther along the path Moco spotted a flash of some small companion, but was unable to properly identify it before it scurried into the bushes on the other side of the trail.
Suddenly a loud rumble came from nearby, and a void rift appeared in the center of the path. Streams of eather began flowing out from the rift, swirling in midair around the party before landing on the ground in a puddle. While all the folk stared in confusion the puddles that had settled close to them began to grow and shift, replicating the party members. Moco spun around to spot his doppelganger only a few feet from where he stood. Moco’s clone lunged towards him, fist outstretched in an attempt to land a punch against him. Narrowly dodging the attack, Moco heard Quest yell from the front of the party that they needed to fight. Moco was not looking to throw punches on this adventure, and so he shifted into a young bavom in an attempt to outrun his clone. Unfortunately the clone of Moco quickly shifted its form to match his and chased after him through the forest.
Moco ducked and weaved through the densely packed trees, shapeshifting into different forms when needed. However soon Moco had been chased into a small cave, and blocking the exit was the void clone. Moco was panicking due to being unable to see a way out of the cave, and in his loss of concentration he lost his shapeshifted form and transformed back into a normal guardian. The clone, standing between him and the exit, shifted into a titan guardian and launched an attack at Moco. The clone pinned him to the ground, unable to breathe. Moco believed he was a goner when a huge swarm of smols attacked the shadowy beast, causing it to loosen its grip on Moco. Moco was able to slip out from under it and summoned his Venti totem from his bag. Using its elemental power he launched a huge gust of wind blowing the monster apart, scattering its eather to the wind.
Moco flops against the cave wall taking in heavy breaths of air. His Venti totem returns to its resting place inside his bag, and the swarm of smols who helped him just in time came to sit next to him. Among the swarm he noticed a smol that was not a wild one. It was in fact one of his own smols from
back home. It turned out his partner Diko had been worried about Moco leaving on the adventure and sent one of his smols off with him without his knowledge to keep watch over him. His smol had saved him from a crushing defeat by the void, and together they returned to the party who had seemed to have finished defeating their clones. It was time to continue the adventure.
