Ohohoh that's the million dollar/gold/cattle question~ =W=
Was he really genuine or not? What if Desdemona's previous experiences and pessimistic outlook on life made her miss a chance for true love~?
And indeed, the miners like to talk, and especially pick and tease the younger ones. It would make sense that they would say awful things about him, to make his chances with her harder~
But she is quick to believe them since she always fears the worst~
She didn't give him much room to defend himself either, she mostly went on and on with her belief, she had decided that this is the most logical explanation, and so it must be true. And therefore she didn't let him speak, since his soft voice could make her weaker and she might burst out crying, and showing weakness was among the last things she wanted~
But yes, was he genuine or not? Who knows~ =W=

Am I the only one who first thought that this one is from your own official game then later realized it isn't? Oh my gosh 😂😂😂
The way you draw her face's shape this time makes she looks a little bit fragile and much more feminine (than she already is) and truthfully... despite the situation she is currently in, I really like seeing her this way--- *cough cough*

The pained furrow of her brows, the lips drawn tightly into a pensive pucker, Desdemona's hurt is poignantly shown through her expression here.
However, the written excerpt below magnifies the gravity of her sorrow.
Being deceived by such a seemingly eager and trustworthy friend as Rayden proved a sort of final straw for how much heartbreak Desdemona can endure, having lost her mother and the gardener.
The details of which she realizes this are equally painful- how she sensed his insincerity in the seemingly "kind" efforts he made to befriend her. It's interesting to see how she realizes his pretense now, as she can remember his lack of enthused interest in things she was sincere about.
With status, whether inherited or earned, attaches its own risk. One such risk is never knowing for certain whom is genuine or who is simply exploiting false kindness to gain the privileged's trust.
Her fire at the end, in which she threatens Rayden if he so much as appears again, she would command the executor to behead him, we can feel her intense grief and anger channeling into something like a sharp tool of the soul, that so often happens when the heart is crushed by betrayal.
Last but not least, this DOES look like a real RPG game! It looks wonderfully professional!

I think her face and the atmosphere matches really well with the colours of the background.
The text on the box is really smooth too! You did an awesome job here- story and art!

That's the very tragic truth, one with power needs to be careful at all times, since threats can come from where you least expect it, from the people closest to you. :C

Indeed they are~! Although now I realised how I could have made the text prettier, but that's for next time then~ X'D
Definitely! I'd love to make one myself so~ I kind of thought about making one for each of the Princesses, a short one for one event in their lives~ C':
I'm glad to hear that she is relatable, although at the same time I'm not, since she doesn't have the most joyful events and feelings. OwO"
So true, while she for the most parts wants and shuts her feelings down, she ends up snapping from time to time, thanks to all her feelings having time to boil inside her, she flares up pretty wildly when she does~
If her mother and the gardener hadn't died, there might've been a risk that she would've fallen so deep and tried to ignore the rumours. It would've made her doubt of course, but not enough, so she would've gotten into more trouble than she did now. But now since her heart's been so hurt by the death of two people she loved, she's been extra cautious of the positive feelings. And only slowly let the boy affect her, and she ended up loving him very much. But since she dealt with the deaths, she already knew that the world is an unfair and awful place, and were more inclined to believe the foul rumours. So then she started to try and see him from another perspective, and noticed that a lot of the things he did didn't seem to be very sincere, and so she came to the conlclusion that the rumours must be real.

Btw, you can make tons of scenes like this with Ren'py with only the png of Desdemona or whichever character you want to use, and the boxes can be programmed to be prettier without much effort xD
I see, it makes sense that she got to these conclusions. Does she ever start trusting people more again...?

Yeah I actually downloaded it and tested it out a bit yesterday~ I can see a lot of possibilities with it already (although the whole writing code part feels a bit overwhelming, I'm sure I'll learn it soon enough~) Like when I spent an half hour trying to put a png picture in a test game, to try out what I could learn and do, and I didn't get it to work. Only to later realise the size was wrong, I had 1024 on the height of the picture, so it was too big, and therefore it didn't show up in the game. X'D It took so long for me to figure it out I'm ashamed. X'D
Indeed so, and as of yet not completely. She still have immense doubts, and this dark person she meets later on, she doesn't trust him either truly, it's more like she's made into trusting him because of the fear he imposes on her.

Haha, it can be quite difficult, especially with sizing. I agree, they should make it a bit easier for the sizing thing.

Hahah yeah, at first I thought the program would resize the picture to fit the frame, but it didn't so I spent so long thinking something else was the problem~ X'D But now it should be easier, so if nothing else, it would've been great if they talked about the sizing of the pictures in the tutorial at least. OwO""

Yeah, they don't go through it that much on their site, unfortunately. Their tutorials could be done better.
