Description Today's Inktober entry was a bit faster and less demanding than yesterdays, and I actually enjoyed this one from beginning to end. Some bits of it are more polished than others, but hey...

Its a pretty straightforward portrait of the spacio-temporal agents Valerian and Laureline (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Val%C3%A… ). I was introduced very late to the comic while reading Scott McCloud's "Making Comics" book. The loose, flowing, sketchy artwork captivated me instantly, and I set about reading as much of it as I could. As it stands, I'm still waiting on the translations from Cinebook, but I've gotten through the first 10 stories, and the "New Future Trilogy."  I tried to maintain the flowy feel of Mezieres' artwork, as best as my spastic hand could, while keeping true to my own style, using reference for the costume designs.  The drawing was done entirely with a Kuretake Fude pen (I'm liking it more and more with each use!), and Pentel Pocket brush for the large areas of black, which I love, but the ink is a bit watery and not very dark.
