Description Requested by

His OC, Nikola Tepavac aka Eagle 1.

Although just now after checking his notes again I realized that he still wanted to add some more details to his request. Sorry mate

Having forgotten about that I just made this following the description of his OC which can be read here: [link]

Eagle 1's camouflage is the Croatian digital camouflage (CROPAT) which I made using the always useful brushes from .

The weapon is an always handy Avtomat Kalashnikova Model 103 (AK-103) fitted with a GP-30 grenade launcher.

I had to apply some counter-perspective to the final drawing. The perspective I originally applied to the drawing went wrong and after I inked it I realized the head was simply too big in comparison with the rest of the body, So I applied a perspective effect after coloring and shadowing it. Now it looks much better.

I've also made some changes to my newly updated watermark signature so that the name and website adress would be easier to read.

I hope you guys like it. Will post a journal now explaining what will be my upcoming projects.

See'ya in the Battlefield!

LOL, this is pretty cool, man! Gotta love the scar all over his face And the perspective is pretty good
I must say that you still could add more details on the forest. But yeah, I know you got whole bunch of request, so that may bother, lol. As for the background, maybe you could erase the lineart though. Other than that, keep it up

That is actually not part of the lineart, that is just some dark glow that I applied to a "tree" so that it may resemble as part of the lineart. 'Though it doesn't really look very good. I'll be more carefull in that sense in future projects although I have always been worried about backgrounds that looked too much like a painting with a different style as the main objects.

I'm glad you like it

You're welcome Oh, but actually applying some paintings on the background may also help the drawing focused on the main object instead. Rather than using blur effect all the time And most artists didn't use black for BG lines. Maybe you could just use someone's photoshop brushes for that Quite handy

Actually I've been suggested to be less dependant on brushes made by other deviants.

But I will look into not putting way too much effor on a background if there are other main objects that require more attention from both the artists and the viewer.

Still, they made brushes for us to use But you can always create your own brushes

Ah, and of course. Who cares about detailed BG, if there are other things we could actually show?

Indeed! But hey... With a good knowledge of the brushes that are included in PhotoShop by default, texturing becomes quite an easy work.

Hehe, I knew what (or whom, better) I was desigining ages ago. This merc was used ny many RP ages ago. I must admit Panzer, you made him really good. The ony bad thing (if I must be a bastard) is CROPAT. It's is unigue in world because some genius decided to digitalize the geographical shape of Croatia and use it as a one of many cammouflage shapes on uniform. Google is yer friend. Here a fave and DL.

I'm glad you like and to be honet I did knew about the Croatioan gepgraphical shape being included in the CROPAT design. But I got a bit lazy trying to make the shape of Croatia on the camo. I hoped no one would notice that detail and that I could get away with it.

Your observation skills however have blasted me.

Yeah it gives the character a more mean-looking aura. Like it's a badass motherf*cker.

You're right there.
Hey would it seem weird to see a mercenary using an ACR Bushmaster?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Panzerfire In reply to Nightbringer24 [2010-08-23 22:48:20 +0000 UTC]

Well that would depend on the financial background of the mercenary.

I don't think many African mercenaries can afford to purchase new weapons made in the west. They usually purchase second hand weaponry like FN FALs, H&K G-3s or the different variants of the Kalashnikov series (Specially the older ones). They're relatively cheap in some parts of Africa.

Mercenaries and Private Security Company employees (No different from Mercenaries) from Western countries on the other hand would be able to buy ACRs and plenty of accesories for it.

Nightbringer24 In reply to Panzerfire [2010-08-24 11:05:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, this guy is a western mercenary. Although the story he's in is based in a zombie apocalypse situation.

Panzerfire In reply to Nightbringer24 [2010-08-25 01:44:59 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm then possesion of high quality weapons depends on whetter they have been adquired before the Z-day has arrived. Afterwards it gets really hard to find a weapon due to mass-looting from gun stores.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nightbringer24 In reply to Panzerfire [2010-08-25 09:37:37 +0000 UTC]

He gets it before Z-day (how did you come up with that awesome name?). Besides I don't the Bushmaster is on sale to the general public in America. It definately isn't in Britain.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Panzerfire In reply to Nightbringer24 [2010-08-31 14:01:57 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... well you'll have to look into that more deeply. As for the Z-day term. I think it's quite common among people refering to the whole zombie subject. I didn't come up with it 'though i can't remember where did I first hear it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nightbringer24 In reply to Panzerfire [2010-08-31 14:09:55 +0000 UTC]

I just checked and the Bushmaster ACR is not on sale to the general public but it would probably be on sale to PMCs.
Also, is it crazy to come up with a list of equipment you would use in the minimal chance of a Z-day scenario?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Panzerfire In reply to Nightbringer24 [2010-09-04 13:20:54 +0000 UTC]

Well... It'd be crazy if you actually thought it would happen. But the list per se ain't really crazy. I'd make considering the matter seriously but just for fun.

Nightbringer24 In reply to Panzerfire [2010-09-04 16:06:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I mainly asked because me and some of my friends are going to do a zombie movie for my film studies in College next year. So that mainly peeked my interest and I know three things for my character's costume:
*Zombies know where you are anywhere you hide, so camouflage is pointless,
*silenced weapons are a must,
So. It's just a matter of cost and time.

(Also, percentage wise, a Z-day event is 1 percent more likely then a nuclear holocaust.)

No, no. Not your guy, my guy. To be honest I've been thinking of the idea for him for a long time. He also has a completely different name and style to Eagle-1.
