Description We went on a quick decision to Door County, Wisconsin for an overnight shoot. This was photographed at Cave Point County Park shortly after sunrise along a shoreline that gets a constant pounding from the waves. You can tell when you are standing over one of the hollowed out caves because you can feel the pounding under your feet.

I find this photo to be quite mesmerizing! There are a few things at work to make the scene quite enticing. The waves roll in with great force to produce the gauze-like water sprays after hitting the shoreline. This is definitely shown along the edge of the shoreline. The constant pounding of the waves has affected the appearance of the shoreline, both above and below the surface. Numerous holes and rough stair-like edges on the surface, as well as the 'caves' beneath the surface, came about as a result of the hard pounding that never ceases to stop. I can imagine what the hard pounding from beneath the surface (due to the hollowed-out caves) must feel like.

The details in the photo are so sharp that the above characteristics can be seen very clearly. The reflection from the rising sun makes the jagged edges stand out, and pools of water can be seen from the upper right corner. The reflection also shows the wet surface so very clearly. The colors are starting to come about since the sky has gotten much lighter. Half of both the water and the shoreline makes for a very well-balanced photo.

The beauty of this seascape is reflected in the softness of its colors and textures. The uniqueness of the shoreline, as well as the feel of the pounding waves, can definitely leave a very tranquil feeling to one's psyche! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />
