Description We saw this sweet looking creek while driving through Rocky Mountain National Park. I was thinking it looked like my idea of "bear country" as I worked my way down the embankment to the creek's edge and almost tripped over a half-eaten deer carcass.

It wasn't necessarily that close... it's just interesting that I was very aware of the potential "beariness" of the place and I looked down to see the evidence of their presence!!!

I recently read an email about how to determine Black Bear Scat from Grizzly Scat. Black Bear Scat would include berries, grasses and leaves. Grizzly Scat would contain bits of clothing, shoes, a belt and a can of pepper spray. :>

i like the way the river divides your photo into 2 sections, and points to the mountains on the background. and the color's amazing too

Thanks John... you have some wonderful stomping grounds there and we would have spent a bunch more time there if we could have!!! But who knows... my grandkids are both at CU and that's just down the street!!!!!
