Wow, I never thought I'd upload actual PHOTOS to DeviantArt. I just got back from a family vacation to Yosemite, Sequoia and Joshua Tree National Parks. I've visited all of them many times before, but never with my OWN CAMERA!It's just a cheap little point-n-shoot and I'm a long ways off from calling myself even an amateur photographer, but I feel like all artists should have a camera. Not only does it help study composition, but also lighting and color. And it's great for collecting references.
This was shot in Yosemite on a trail leading to Mirror Lake. A beautiful, beautiful piece of the world.
I used Photoshop to stitch these three photos together and to color match.

Thank you! When I was stitching pictures together, I just thought I'd taken two--the cliff and the lake. But then I noticed the log photo matched and I was really excited to put it in!
