This was from our third trip to "Toadstools" in a couple of months. It is just a short walk from the highway over relatively easy terrain to step into a very unworldly and breathtaking landscape.

I agree... there are so many places that are totally unique in this general area. There is a long history of volcanoes and of erosion that affect the local geology and geography quite differently. I am becoming more fascinated every time we take to the field. The wild, wild West is just so visually diverse that nearly every moment brings a new experience of awe and appreciation for the wild areas that have been protected. Β
