This is something I started working on when the first pixelated photos of these guys leaked to the internet, and finished when they finally published the official sprites.I remember the time, people all over DevArt were crying and there was three times more hate art than fan art of the new 'mons, but it didn't stop me from loving them. I felt like the 'mons deserved better, and I darn well wanted to show my support!
I still really do love the fifth generation (well, I like all pokémon, so it's not really that big news). Great designs, and really good games too. I've never had such a hard time picking my starter!

I was honestly only disappointed in GanonporkEmboar because that's three gens in a row with a fire/fighting starter. :[ I had hoped that it would be Fire/Dark. Their designs are amazing, though, and I love seeing fanart of them.

When people were hating on all the new Pokemon I was pretty neutral about them all. Until I saw Serperior and Samurott and after reading their Pokedex entries I fell in love with those two. I don't judge a Pokemon on it's design only, I also base my opinion on how well it does in battle, it's type, it's behavior too. I had a hard time picking between Serperior and Samurott.

Yeah. I kept following the revelations when info of the new games started to leak online bit by bit, and kept an eye for art of them in here DA. There was loads of people complaining how ugly the new mons were, like how emboar was ugly, fat and of all things a PIG, and that samurott was a stupid horse who looked nothing like his previous formes (as if that'd never happened before) and generally that the new mons were nothing like the old 'mons/too weird/unoriginal/stupid/ugly. There was a lot. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the hate art, so I never saved them. They are now harder to find since people have grown to like them, and there's so much fan art to look through.

Oh wow. I did only like snivy at first and neither of the other two. But I didn't really care that tepig was a... pig. FFFF. Starters always START somewhere. But I would never start hating on them. Not that big of a deal.

Yeah, the hate was pretty sad. I mean come on, pigs aren't bad. I like pigs, and emboar is a frikin' hellboar on fire! Good,visually well balanced designs. I got no problems with that.

I have to say I wasn't /super/ thrilled with these starters when I first saw them, but they've certainty grown on me ever since. xD The way you drew these Pokemon also make them look more epic as well~ <3

Fifth gen is my favorite since the first gen (which will always hold a special place in my heart). I like that you don't encounter any old Pokemon until after the Elite Four. It made it almost like playing Pokemon for the first time again

Yeah, I liked it too that all the wild pokémon were new and never seen before, it really felt like a whole new adventure! And with no old favourites available, I got to know some 'mons I probably never would have tried before, it was really worth it.

Serperior was my love from the begging. We trained so hard she's up to level 70 already. And I just got the game about a week ago.
