This was a print I did for last summer's Desucon.I think this was my first time ever drawing Venusaur. The other two I have drawn at least once before (not that it matters much, I still have difficulties with Blastoise). I drew three starter trios (first, fourth and fifth) but personally I think that this turned out my favourite.

Venusaur's flower always kind of freaked me out. I loved Blastoise in the TCG, though. He looks a little crazy in this picture ... "Firin' mah lazar!" which is weird, considering he normally looks so gentle.

Venusaur is kind of awkward to draw... He's a weird frog dino thing and its easy to make him look wall-eyed XD
Yours looks fantastic though. so good! And I love the other two as well. The foreshortening of blastoises cannons is well done. And they're shiny

He's also all the more fun to draw! I really like that thing in pokΓ©mon that they have such huge variation in designs that they keep challenging and interesting for a long time and don't feel boring.

I like the variances as well. There are some really cute, simple pokemon like pikachu or jigglypuff, but then you get those more complex characters like gyarados, kangaskhan, or venusaur

And shapes! There are cat-shaped, bird-shaped, humanoid-shaped, complete mythical monster-shaped and I-have-no-clue -shaped. I have the most fun drawing the weirder, less normal looking ones with my tendency to figure out how their anatomy works while still keeping to their official design.

Charizard is and always will be my favorite starter and always one of my top favorite pokemon. That's one dragon I'm always rockin'. Good work shifting the pokemon into a slightly different style. I'm liking it.
