Because my audience (or at least ~RoFox ) wished to see more MetalHearts.

I decided to draw Mercury, because the only picture of him (let's call Hg 'him' okay?) was drawn about a year ago (actually a year and ten days ago) and I have improved a bit since that. Mercury has always been one of my favourite MHs so he deserved to be drawn again. His older pic can be seen here: [link] He has improved a bit, hasn't he?

I tried a whole new way to color metal, and I think it looks really good. I spent this morning just by staring at the pic, so if you notice any error in his coloring, please wait few days before you tell me about it and pop my dream bubble, okay? Good. ^^ Now he really looks metallic. He is the purest metal of them all so he should look very shiny. And he is the purest because mercury is liquid. You know, you can't scratch mercury. It's impossible to brake liquid. (I had to redo the blue parts of him with Photoshop because my scanner can't see light blue. Annoying. Next time I'll try to draw Gold so I don't have to fight with my blue-blind scanner)

I also changed his eye color from his previous design. He was used to have purple eyes (just because he needed at least some color to his eyes), not for any good reason. But this time I made some background research about mercury element and found out that cinnabar and vermillon are mercury's compounds. Both are red colors. ^^

Mercury is vivid and curious fellow and he likes to play with other MetalHearts. His long animal like hands kinda symbolise his puppy-like nature. If he was a dog, he'd be continually asking for play and wagging his tail. ^^

By the way, it's interesting how mercury is called in other languages. In English it's formerly known as quicksilver, in Latin it's hydrargyros, which means water silver and in Finnish it's elohopea or 'live silver'. Heh.
