Description
a Borekir is a doglike creature existing in the mountains of Higee and at one time, Ghana (a possible relative of Tomarctus (yes thats a real animal)). It's an omnivore but mainly eats sienna cats, rienduattas (rabbit people), hunduras (horse-like animals), birds, luitto pinnapolé (tree people), and other small dog-like creatures. height ranges from about 2-2.5 m, weight = 300-600lbs, sexual maturity 5-10 years, life expectancy 40-50 years. the hard helmet-like plate on the forehead acts as armour to protect their large brain. they also use it to headbutt other Borekir in rival wars. the alpha male and female are chosen b/c of their unusually large size, high intelligence, luxurious amount of fur, and discolored head plate. Borekir come in a variety of colors and fur patterns but a pack will not tolerate one of diff color/pattern. this is why only Borekir of the same color and fur pattern will mate resulting in the differing appearence of rival packs. the head plate is usually blue or violet and changes color depending on mood. the alpha male/females headplates tend to be the color of their packs with a mixture of silver, black, gold. wrappings on the tail are a sign of authority and are reserved for the alphas and betas. defense mechanisms include the emmission of toxins from the pores and teeth, and top speed of 70mph leave this animal with only one known predator, keenatta dua (or the death ray). due to the mild climate Borekir coats are thick and they actively avoid water. habitat is very rocky and at a high altitude so lung capacity and efficiency is large. they also have an uncanny ability to climb trees and often vertical cliffs. females and males typically have no size or strength difference. pregnancy lasts for a mere 3 months and after birth cubs are raised by the entire pack. typically only the alpha's are allowed to mate, choosing the best poosible mates out of the pack. smell is poor but eyesight and hearing is exceptional.
