UPDATE: New Poses, slight redesigns for first forms

Yup! I've finally managed to finish the starters for my region, and man, am I excited. These little guys are just the start of what I have to unveil, but let's stop and talk about them for a minute. Yes, yes, each one will get their own deviation with the Pokedex entry and all of that information, but the starters themselves.

The starters represent the region itself, it's theme, energy. Each starter constructs and adds to that in some way. So! In order from left to right.

Pinepole (pinecone + tadpole)
Type: Grass

This starter went through a lot of changes, but I think I'm satisfied with the final. He's based off of a pinecone, but is actually a tadpole. The little guys are literal tree frogs, in that sense.

Scolt (scald + colt)
Type: Fire

Horses are a big deal in the areas I live near/in. So I figured out of all of the animals on the Chinese zodiac, a horse would be the most fitting. I tried my all not to make this starter look like an MLP character, and I'm pretty confident that I did well with my goal. The colors were kind of hard to pick out for that one, honestly.

Castore (castor + shore)
Type: Water

I actually had several different ideas for starters, with the original being a catfish, but the back of my brain kept screaming "STICK TO THE FORMULA". Of course, I don't think people should need to be limited by a formula on how to design fakemon/pokemon, because that limits the creativity. But for me, I like to embrace the restraints I've put on myself and force myself to work with what I have available. It took a lot for me to get this one where I wanted it to be, but I'm happy with how it came out!

That being said, I've finally uploaded the first fakemon of my region. I've got much more to come, and now that I actually have them uploaded, I'll have to stop procrastinating and actually focus on finishing the rest of them! The picture was a tad-bit low quality today, that's because I had a bit of trouble hooking my scanner up to my new wifi. But I'll get that taken care of when uploading the rest of the fakes, including these guys again with all their information, so no worries there.
