the geography of this planet was so...(he rolled his eyes before the words even left his brain) alien. too many things
slammed together in beautifully dangerous ways...it was hard to take it all in at once...first sighting was always the most intense for him...the first shock of air to the lungs, told him more in moments than any hard to pronounce gadget that might have been provided for him to take readings. Others might have been jaded by such sites and binary sunsets he was not one of them...this place seemed to be very rich in the minerals and gemstones and a slight kick at the gravely sand proved his thinking was correct as several brilliantly blue boleite crystals (rare on his home world) scattered ahead of him. He picked up the larger of the three within reach "radioactive" he though..."not that much but nothing you would want to hold in your pockets for very long while here" and then preceded to do so anyway. He smiled as he spotted movement near by...something low to the ground, obscured by the native tussock grass... whatever it was it was clearly not afraid of humanoid lifeforms...and there seemed to be more than one of them...he was being hunted and they didn't care that he knew it. "and now for something a bit more dangerous to poke at with a stick" he said aloud as his hands curled around the slender metallic rod used for taking shallow core samples... "not much of a vacation if you ask me" he thought, as a blur, low and fast came at him from the left almost without thinking he swung and connected with something that gave way with a sickening crunch...

Very stylish reflections, totally eye-catching. They give the stream a really liquid look, plus a chilly feel on top of that.
