I also think it's sad the did not speak but ah well, I think they were still pretty epic. I had tears in my eyes from their awesomeness combined with that music XD And it cracks me up how Gandalf always sends moths to fetch them, I mean... how fast does a moth fly really? Against the wind too... XDDDD Hobbit lacked a bit of cool things in the book but other things from the book, like dwarves singing in Bilbo's house about those broken dishes and things it adapted just marvelously. And we were so happy that even the goblin king sang! I generally loved the movie, I went to it expecting something rather mediocre and just a money-squeezer but at the very first scene with the history of Dwarves and Smaug's arrival I already was sitting there with my mouth ajar and eyes stuck to the screen forever XD Lets forgive the guy for no eagle voices, I think the improvement from lord of the ring movies is amazing and I hope it'll go on in this direction.

Good because that's always bothered me. I disliked how they make the eagles detached from the group, and don't really talk to them . They were kind of regal right? Been a while since I read the book. smog sure as hell better talk in the other movies
