Description Today I've read DancingLunarWolve's Zootopia fanfic "A Spring In Your Step" chapter "Home Bound"

In this story Nick and Judy are travelling per train to Bunny Burrow.
At the train station, Judy's brother Kelvin (DLW's OC) and her niece Cotton (at the moment I didn't really have figured out if OC or not) wait to pick Nick and Judy up.
Then there was a scene where those four walk over to the parking lot to get to in the car for driving back home to the Hopps' burrow.

This is a piece out of the story:
"It wasn't until he was sure that - from what Judy informed him about the place - he'd be able to relax without too much trouble, that Nick shrugged and hobbled along. He retreated to his own thoughts until he reached the car. For whatever reason, he thought they'd be riding in the same beat up old pickup truck he and Judy solved the Nighthowler case in. Instead, it was a decent, albeit old, station wagon that could comfortably seat them all.

Oddly, however, Judy and Cotton were in the back with their stuff. He figured it was because the little bunny was more comfortable with her aunt than some creepy strange fox (as she probably should be). So, he was forced to take the passenger seat and was helped in by Kelvin, at least until he was comfortably seated enough to not need the crutches.

By the time they left the train station and onto the roads of the countryside, it had gotten dark enough for them to need to drive a little more carefully. Even with wide open spaces and pavement, the old wagon felt a bit jumpy.

That alone caused the fox to chuckle at the 'bunny mobile'. It wasn't orange, but a deep shade of brown (and one antenna) made it look almost like it should be burrowing itself.

It was a few minutes into their journey to Judy's home that Nick felt something... different about the atmosphere. The warm hue of the fading sunlight mingling with the first of the stars produced an effect he hadn't seen in ages. Well, I see it every day, he thought. While true, he never really did see it this way before. This was different in a way he couldn't describe."

And there was this annoying voice in my head, which said "YOU HAVE TO DRAW THIS STATION WAGON NOW! NOW! DRAW IT! NOW! If you don't draw it now, I'll annoy you with the most annoying song you can imaging! SO DRAW IT NOW!"

So I read this piece of text a few times, to get every single detail out of it.
This car need to be
old,
decent,
brown,
with one antenna

I had a few makes and models in mind. My favourite two were the 1980 Dodge Aspen Station Wagon and the 1980 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon
I choose the Fairmont, 'cause I like the woody version a little bit better than the Aspen woody version.

Imaging to sit in this 38 year old station wagon, the 200 cu in straight six in the front producing a nice and low rumble.
The car is gliding over the country roads, a Genesis tape is blasting through the car stereo.
Kelvin (DLWs OC) is driving this beautyful car, Nick is looking out of the side window, amazed by the Bunny Burrow landscape,
Judy and Cotton are sitting on the rear bench and talking about little girl things.

This whole thing was really spontaneous, and I hope DLW wont be mad at me for using his OC and his fanfic as background for this.

Here is the fanfic, if you didn't have read it, check it and the other fanfics from DLW out. He is an awesome writer.

Definitely have been around these cars.  Ford Fairmont.  (Side note, tho. Slant six is a Dodge engine. (And a great one!) Fairmont was probably a straight six, or the smaller V8, like the ones I worked with.)  The V8 would kinda cook the auto trans, if driven hard. One of our larger two-way radio clients' vehicles were impossible to tie down for inspection and transmitter certification. Then we clued into making a deal with the transmission shop to let us know when they were in for repairs.  That worked great! True story...  Stubat

My mistake. I thought Slant Six is a term for a an inline six cylinder engine. I'll correct it.

Looks like the '80 wagon was available with inline 4, inline 6 and V8... (3.3L six. I had one of those. Good running engine.) The Slant six, one of the most respected and unkillable engines out there, was Chrysler/Dodge. The reason for "slant" six was that the cylinder bank was canted at a 30 degree angle, making for an odd looking engine. (google "slant six" for all sorts of info. Quite a history.) The Ford six looks a lot more 'normal'. I've had both, liked both.  You did a nice job on the Fairmont! A farming family could very easily be in one of these. (In fact, the company that had the Fairmonts I worked with was a large landscaping firm, so right on target!) Might want to add the buck teeth that their pickup has to keep it rabbit-y...)  Thanks for the fun bits!  Stubat

I'm really glad, you like it.
This is so awesome, that it fits your idea of Kelvin's car so well.

Thanks.
In my opinion, a boxy station wagon with chrome details, a chrome roof rack and woody look, is a really typical american car, like a pick up truck, or a black and white full size police sedan, so this look was necessary for me.
Sure, it could have been an old BMW Touring or a Subaru Loyale, maybe, but for me this were the only suitable kind of vehicle. A Made in the USA woody station wagon.
