Say "Fuck You!" with a smile on your face and love in your heart. Respect the paths of others and that their path may not be yours. Be honest with yourself about what does and does not resonate and know that when someone else is learning the hard way, that its okay to acknowledge that it sucks to be them and you're thankful that its not you going through it all.What you think about and thank about, you bring about!
So as long as you are respecting your own free will and respecting the free will of others, then to say "wow, that guy is such a dickface!" is merely expressing your observation that you and the other person do not resonate. You're fire and water, but -- THATS OKAY!!
Some folks think I am a very nice, very kind, very wise and very intelligent human being. Others think I am an insufferably annoying mother fucker who should keep his strong opinions to himself. I respect both opinions

So, can't we just say it's ok to ONLY love those who are truly of value to us? Can we really love people we despise anyway?
The notion of "unconditional love" has to be rejected altogether, otherwise "love" becomes just another empty word.

Again, depends on your definition of the word LOVE. The one society has spoon fed us is materialistic garbage. From your perspective, we should not love anyone, not even ourselves -- under the current paradigm of the context of the word love -- because if you look at the current paradigm, the term "love" is described as jealousy, self-loathing, worry, sorrow and insecurity dipped in a vat of materialistic apathy and contempt.
The type of love you are referring to, in my humble opinion -- is the societal lie and NOT the real love. The societal lie context is like trying to ask the marital status of the number 5 or the political orientations of a tuna fish sandwich and then claiming only God can know the answer or the answer is just beyond human ability to process.
The truth of the matter is that the questions themselves are garbage and thats why they aren't answerable. Love is not confusion. It is the false context of it that we are brain washed into that is purposely designed to divide us, for means of population control.
Imagine this if you can ....
Imagine for a moment that you've never heard of a concept called "love" in any context. Imagine that the whole notion of it is alien to you. Also imagine you've never heard of a concept called hate, either. That this notion is equally alien and unfamiliar. We're just pretending here of course -- as I'm intending to set the stage using IMAGINATION and MAKE BELIEVE in order to make a serious point.
So here you are experiencing yourself as this fictional version of yourself in an imaginary scenario who has never heard of any such notions of love and hate. Imagine for a moment that ideas such as labeling things and sticking things into compartmentalized little boxes was also a very foreign idea for you. The idea of judgment of anything, being so alien that you can't even conceive of it.
Imagine what this would be like ...
This fictional version of you exists in a reality of pure objective perception and observation. This fictional version of you, recognizes without the desire to calculate anything and can easily just OBSERVE what is in front of them, for what it truly is. The mind not clouded with all of this indoctrination and moralistic bullshit that our real society uses to turn us into pathological sociopaths.
This version of you which we are creating in our imaginations right now, can clearly see and understand cause and effect. Effect and cause. Consequences for actions. Touch fire, get burned. Use fire wisely, you don't get burned. Cow shit can be used as fertilizer to make plants grow. Pissing into a fan means you will receive blowback into your own face. That the truth of the matter is -- whatever it is you put out or hold into your focus, is what you get back and what grows. Adding more lego blocks to even more lego blocks, makes your lego block structure bigger. Taking away blocks, makes it smaller. This fictional version of you exists in a state of this sort of pure clarity.
This version of you understands what we call "unconditional love" from such a different perspective -- that even giving it a name seems silly. This version of you thinks the idea is silly, because if you give it a name you are implying that it and its opposite must be in conflict rather than harmony. Its as silly as acting as if each arm, leg, finger, toe and every other part of the body -- are all separate people who are required to fight each other in some battle for domination. The very idea is ridiculous because this version of you sees the body as a whole and knows that if you destroy the balance of the body, that death for the entire body is guaranteed.
So now this fictional version of you and the current real life version of you, begin to have an interesting conversation ...
FIC: What is this odd duality of love and hate you're trying to tell me about?
YOU: Well, when you love someone it means you care about them and would do anything for them and when you hate someone, you reject them and want to hurt them.
FIC: Thats very strange. Why would you want to hate anyone?
YOU: Well, no one WANTS to hate anyone, but it is a natural reaction when someone does you harm in some way.
FIC: Harm?
YOU: Yeah, like if someone does bad things like calls you an asshole or talks gossip about you behind your back or is rude to you or tells you that they want to hurt you or talks lies about you to your friends and family. Things like this.
FIC: Why would you want to do harm to them for that? If someone does not like you, wouldn't you prefer that they hold this level of honesty about it? If someone is the type who is trouble, is it not better that they make it obvious so you know to stay away from them? Is a snake doing you harm by not pretending to be a kitten?
YOU: Oh well they can think and feel how they want, but thats different than doing bad things to people.
FIC: So expressing yourself genuinely for who you truly are, is doing bad to others?
YOU: I didn't say that.
FIC: Well yes, you did. Because you are saying that if someone acts in such a way which you do not approve of, that rather than stay away from them, you should instead do harm to them of some sort. Just because you do not approve of who they are. So if you are saying they should conform to your ideas and you will harm them for not doing so, then does this not by your own philosophy mean you are just as bad as they are? And if so, does that then really give you the right to be doing anything?
YOU: Wait, huh????
FIC: Well, this might seem crazy to you, but to me it just sounds like pissing into a fan. You take offense to the fan being what it is in its nature and instead of choosing not to deal with the fan, you piss in it because you hate it and want to punish it. Then when your piss flies back into your own face, you once again blame the fan. Then you blame the existence of all fans for being the cause of every evil in the world.
YOU: Okay wise ass, then tell me -- if all of this is just oh-so-fucking-obvious to you, then how would YOU handle people who do you wrong?
FIC: Easy. If I can not avoid a situation, I take a good look at it and see how I might use it to transform things into a good situation. Such as using manure as fertilizer to grow pretty flowers, instead of feeling victimized by the huge pile of crap in front of me. If someone is trying to do wrong to me, to try to control me, then they want me to get angry an do wrong back to them and to hate them. Making my mind unclear and filled with this emotional garbage is something they would want me to feel. Because it would throw me off balance and make it easy for them to dominate me, hurt me and abuse me. So I would feel how I prefer to feel for the ONLY reason of me WANTING to feel that way and I would respect the other persons right to be filled with such hate that they don't feel in control unless they are controlling others. Soon, they would get so angry that they can't bring me down to their level, that they couldn't stand to be around me and they'd go look for someone else to harass. Why would I want to bring myself down to a state where people can abuse me? That makes no sense, but thats what it seems you are telling me that we all should do. If I had to define what you call unconditional love, I would call it just everyones right to be themselves and my right to ONLY deal with those who are like-minded. I don't have to hate those who are not like minded. How *I* feel *ONLY* effects *ME* because ONLY I am me. No one else is me. If I am filled with hate, that would only fuck me over. No one else is me. People can run from me and I can run from others, but I can't escape myself. So why would I want to poison myself with hate and destroy my life by pissing into one fan or another, all in the name of so-called justice? This sounds very pathological and unstable to me.
