I finished high school and I'm going to study at University right now. I don't know how to define this... Culture protection? yep that's the best definition in english xd I get at the Art Uniwersity in Torun (Graphic Arts faculty, close to Bromberg), but I can't go there... that's complicated and irritating -_- so I stay there. But! Next year I'm going to go to the Academy Of Fine Art - that's reaaaaly hard to attain...
So as you probably conjecture, I think graphic design would be the best choice

I'm gonna start it in October so I don't know exactly xd but I'm going to learn history of art and architecture (a lot), Latin, about museums, conservation of paintings and so and so. I think it's a good insurance, if I won't get a job as a graphic designer.
The Academy of Fine Arts is how we called the best and the most prestigious universities in Poland. The best artists are learning on those Academies. We have a few, but it's very hard to get there - a loooot of candidates, and you have to pass difficult exams so...

I even have the same problem... I want to go to several Academies (I'm not able to choose so I'll apply to all) but it's a hard work to prepare the portfolio and it's very expensive to buy the materials you've got to bring with you for the exams.

I would love to study in Kraków (Krakau), but I think I'll choose Poznań. It's closer and as good as Kraków (well, maybe just a bit worse...). Also, there's no need to make a portfolio in Poznań, since some cantdidates tried to cheat - they bring someone's else paintings lol.

Bauhaus is wonderful... and u r right... Dessau is next to leipzig, but it's another state (not Saxony but Saxony-Anhalt). Walter Gropius was a genius and his professors (Kandinsky, Klee, Otto, Moholy-Nagy,...) were such wonderful artists. LOVE ^__^
Mathematics is a really extraordinary subject... but it's logic and comprehensible when you understand the phrases and rules. I hate Psysics >.<

Otto and Klee are ok, but Kandinsky gosh, I hate the man. I don't like new-art that much. I prefer artists who lived let's say hmmmm between 1850-1910. I like realism, especially in Poland and France. Symbolism and surrealism are great as well. All those things conected with abstraction & neoplasticism are too simple and too clever for me.
First, I had thought 'gosh, it's boring...' but when she started to suffer, then I thought 'she's incredible, fantastic!'. Yes, it's sad I think she would write a lot of fantastic stuff if she could. I haven't

My favourite art movements are surrealism and renaissance... But I have to confess that I like EVERY single art movement... Some simple shapes and the theory which is explaning why it is that simple. I think people who are called 'artists' should have skills, not just theory. When artist have both - then he/she's a genious. But that's just my view
