Her mom said that she looked beautiful and that there's nothing to be ashamed of. That it's a gift from God and that everything happens for a reason. Hope was never the most religious person and she loves her mom but if she did believe that, then God gave her the worst fucking gift that can't be refunded she thought to herself initially. But admittedly, her pregnancy did grow on her as time went on and she did like having some sort of comfort from her belly, although she would never admit it to anyone aside from her therapist no matter how many people called her out on it.
