Hello...glad you like it.Yes, these colours are an unusual choice for me...but suitable for the mood intended. I made this mandala when i was kind of 'bridging' Buddhism and Sufism, so there are elements of both woven into the structure of the mandala...

talking about colors here is somthing i picked up on the way about drawing on black paper (i heard it from my spiritual guide for drawing mandalas) the black paper is like the universe befoure light came. the white color is the light bringing out all the rainbow colors. so this is what i use- black paper, six rainbow colors and alot of white. i use colored pencils called "faber castel". i saw you were interested ib working on black paper. i, on the other hand, am very inspired by your work to try somthing new on white paper.

Hello again..that's great! Love that idea of the universe before the light...! Yes, I'm experimenting with dark, though not black paper - it completely changes how the crayons look. I use caran dache crayons mainly, occasionally faber-castel. Good luck with your experimentation then...!
