Description So....since I can't resist a sale I bought the Clip Studio Paint that I saw floating around on tumblr last week and I wanted to give it a go between trying to get commissions to cooperate for me
I'm still iffy about the program for linework and such, but so far the brushes are much better than the ones I have for SAI (imo) ::3

If you would be so kind, please let me know what you think of the coloring style/smoothness.
Do you like it better or worse than my SAI stuff?
(don't judge me on my crappy ability to shade clothes though I fear I'm never going to properly get my head around that )

Thank you sweetie ::3 I was really happy with her skin but I just couldn't get my head around how to shade her clothes in a way where they would have enough depth how the fuck to people shade white

She's so beautiful!
I actually really love the shading in this one; while I love your shading anyway, this one has a rough smoothness to it (...oxymoron that makes no sense, but it's the only way I can say it lol). Β She looks so pretty!

I didn't even think about trying to color in clip studio; I'll have to try it! Β Maybe that'll help me get into the groove of things

Oh sweetheart she looks utterly amazing! I don't know if it's her more vivid colour scheme, but her hair particularly stands out for me, it seems so crisp, whilst the shading is still very very smooth. And the shades on her loose sleeve is done perfectly! It's hanging so naturally and looks gorgeously 3D.Β 

She is a beautiful character love and this was an amazing collab Β

Aww thank you so much Hun ::3 I didn't really deviate on how I do the hair too much I'm a creature of habit through and through it seems Β 
thanks hun <33 that left sleeve and the shading around her left boob are the only parts of the fabric I personally enjoy ::/ the rest just looks like it fell flat unfortunately I have no clue how to shade white

Awww Hun, that's still progress, there was one point where you said you struggled with fabric and now you're getting parts you enjoy progress Oh indeed White is a bastard to shade, I find using a baby blue or peach works nicest Β

Lovely colors Personally I don't like using Clip Studio Paint for lineart, the stabilizer in SAI is a lot better if you have shaky hands like me XD I think the coloring is great as always but being honest I can't see much of a difference from your other work, which isn't a bad thing imo. Not that I don't encourage experimenting but I hope you know what I mean, it's still lovely and clearly recognizable as yours, soft with some 'hard edges' What kind of brushes do you use in each program?

Oh indeed I am just a creature of habit when it comes to how I like to do my lines and sketches I know you have a bit more options as far as post line corrections with CSP but I find that sometimes with my sketch style it leave me for frustrated than it does pleased ::S so needless to say I am likely going to stick with SAI for that.
Oops! I realize now I uploaded one of the older saved files I dont know that its a shocking difference but yeah... the CSP end one that's there now it a bit smoother than my previous SAI work (atleast on the skin IMO) as far as the hair or clothing, I seem to be very stuck when it comes to those things

Eh, the brushes I use usually depend on the type of shading I feel like doing For SAI, if it was more 'cell' shaded then it was PEN but if it was more messy 'soft' shading then it was just the standard BRUSH I didnt really tweak them much from when Kayleigh gave me the program because I had no clue how For CSP, i think I was using mainly the watercolor brush for the skin, and I'm not sure exactly what I chose for the hair/clothes ::S but I think it was something harsher than that.

Lol nothing wrong with that Indeed, I'm sure it's great for some people, but I never toggle it on myself, I don't think it helps me XD Yep, some people like to hate on SAI because it's outdated (and I really wish they would update it ) but if something works great for you, you should def stick with it

Oh, oops I think it looks great now aswell, the colors look lovely together and her hair def looks very smooth and nicely shaded As for being stuck with something, again there's nothing wrong with that, it makes something a bit more 'your style' I'd say I'm stuck with some things aswell XD

Okay cool I do most of my coloring in SAI but I'm a fan of the watercolor brushes in CSP aswell. I'm using the opaque watercolor quite a lot these days, it blends well, and the dense watercolor is good for a bit harder shading I think Paine said that she uses the smooth watercolor one to blend, I'm not sure, we talked about it the other day I hope you will enjoy CSP, it's a great program (with a lot to learn, imo XD) (And the decorations are great!)
