to make your canvas transparent (taking from paint and putting it in sai) go to layer > luminance to transparency!

I could just tell you! They're called jeans, crust, base, bark, spread, acrylic and aquarelleΒ
If you don't have them on your version of sai, though, i can't helpΒ

my sketch is usually really tiny and then i just blow it up (usually at least 1500x1200 or so) and work from there!

ya!!!! every now and again, go over the messy areas with a sharper, smaller pen to clean them up! make sure the pen isn't heavily textured, though, in order to retain its accuracy <:
