This is a stunning 1929 Duesenberg Murphy convertible sedan. This very car was originally the personal car of the founder of the Murphy Coachbuilder Company. I took this pic at the Academy of Art University section of the San Francisco Auto Show.

That heavy duty suspension was probably necessary because of the poor road conditions back in 1930 (before any interstate highways were even created). But, the long wheelbase, the tall sidewall tires, and the super cushiony leather seats probably do a decent job of absorbing the rough ride of a stiff suspension.
