ImageAs i was down in St. Ives shooting for my friends resturant i realised id never had a proper shoot on the beaches and the coast in St.Ives so when i finished at the harbour i made my way to porthmeor beach and i was treated with a vibrant sky and a pretty rough sea with a lovley strong wind with plenty of sea spray (my favorite)
I found this spot shelterd away from the majority of the wind but also one of the furthest points away from the mainland so i could get the full affect of the waves and the sky...
Development
Taken and Proccessed in RAW curves were added to boost the contrast of the image, removed sensor dust and also used Neat Image to irradicate unwanted noise, unsharpenmask was used twice in the image; one, to sharpen and another to boost contrast in the detailed areas.
The name 'Hager Vor' is Cornish for rough sea for those who are curious

Lovely work, once again: the tones in this shot are wonderful, especially those in the sky. I'm liking the way that they blend together and how they draw to a halt at the horizon-line. I'm also a sucker for long exposures of the sea, but this is an excellent example of the style.

Very nice my Cornish friend. The cloud works as an excellent compositional device and the rocks make an excellent focal point. (I wont say what they look like for fear of a put down

nope its deffinatly real. I wouldnt do photography if i could reproduce it on my computer, i hate sitting in front of a monitor.....soo boring sometimes

dont get to see sunsets over the sea much on the south coast here in torbay, plenty of sunrises but they arent as full in colour or mood.
not able to shoot in raw as i only have a hybrid compact but loving the effects, envious somewhat too.
in all a spectacular shot that does the location of st ives a real credit, one you should be proud of capturing.
