Just for her face.....I almost ALWAYS freestyle the hair, loosely based on the original!..I am never interested in making a replica of a photograph.  I always try to add my own flavor into each drawing I do.

How do you sketch the picture and shade it over? Do you rub out the sketch?

 I always make a grid on both original reference pic and the drawing paper.

My pleasure, I really enjoy your work and I'm a HUGE Fleetwood Mac fan! You really nailed her likeness.

 I'll be at the Pittsburgh Comic Con and the Baltimore Comic Con this year in September...I'm hoping they'll be good shows.

Yeah, My wife is also a FltwdMac and Stevie Nicks fan.....She has had me drawing her since we've been together!  This is the 10th time I drew this girl.

Yes, I use blending stumps (tortillions) and soft Kleenex tissues for larger areas.

mmm im kinda referring to the technique, as in how do you apply them onto the lines. do you flow the direct of the lines? or do you do the circular rubbing on top of the lines.

additionally, how do you put the pencil onto paper? lightly in the sense of stroking the paper with the pencil or putting the pencil at an angle and "colouring"

I blend with a circular motion,  the same way I wax my car.  I apply the shaded area with the side of the pencil and very lightly.....like tickling the paper.
