it's just a striped horse based off of a stupid silly drawing my friend and i did in band class. had nothing to do with hototos
it was just a little cute horse we came up with based on the little blue Tinkerbell faerie girl and it was a horse my friend's big manly dude rode though it made him look girlie and stupid.
doesn't have approved base color
doesn't have approved stripe's black outline
doesn't have approves strip pattern
doesn't have approved face marking
doesn't have approved eye
doesn't have approved hooves
doesn't have an aura
any sparkling is done outside of the strips and isn't even approved color
sparkling is all the time not just for moods
Please do not say I am stealing a breed and selling it. I know all the rules to Hototos. And if i were to 'steal' the breed i wouldn't have claimed to even know what they are, or posted the above. No. the above is called honesty and shows that i'm not after Jullelin's breed. it's just a striped horse. there are plenty of them and just because hototos are popular doesn't mean all striped fuzzy horses are rip offs.
i'm not even making it into a breed or anything. it's just a random design

black base with light blue stripes, and gold sparkles outlining lines. gold, pupil less eyes, gold hooves, and gold rim around ear.
light grey and white mane/tail

How come people think this foal is a Hototo? I see no resemblance to the breed.

since the hototo is so popular people are quick to judge i guess.
i'm not mad if they're nice about asking but i get a bit ticked when they automatically assume i ripped off the breed and i'm a horrible person (never mind the fact i have no previous bad record with any one) but they are always looking for a 'bad guy' to blame.

I'm familiar with the breed, but I've never thought of this foal being a Hototo. Instead of asking, they just assume and point the finger

ya i mean now if the hototo breed owner had gotten head over heals upset about this foal (which i doubted she ever would. she's a sensible woman ) then i would simply have just 'shaved' some of the feathering.

if you read the artist comment you'll know i am not after the breed.
it is not hototo registrable and not even inspired by the breed.
i know all the rules of the breed after i made this design i was told about them and that's why i posted all the reasons this isn't a hototo.
i'm not mad at you at all (please don't think that) i'm just a bit mad that just because it's a striped fuzzy horse means i'm out to steal other people's works. I've never stolen before and am not going to start now. Jullien already knows about this foal and she didn't ask me to take it down.

It does look alittle like a hototo at first glance but it doesn't have all requirements so I don't think your in the wrong. Its a very cute design I rather like it.itch

I know but if he doesn't meed the breed criteria he shouldn't be counted as a "knock off" or "theft" of the breed. Yeah he may look like one but he isnt there are so many things that make him not the breed.

Sigh its a bid and popular breed thats why people get so anal about it i think. I mean i have a bunch of hototos and this little guy would be a whole lot different. Someone who knows the basics of the breed would know that the random foal shouldn't be ostracized for it. The eyes, hooves, stripes and even coloration are wrong
Eyes are white or black not gold
Stripes are lines in either white or black not another color
The hooves are natural not gold
even the coat color (which i think is black) is not a hototo color
The fact that its a draft build horse that had sparkles i think is what everyone has a problem with. But hey his new owner isnt going to draw him like that forever they may want to give him a Friesian build just to differ him from the hototo breed.

ya. the only person's opinion i care about by this point is jullian. we've talked a bit in the past as in comments and i've never had issues with her before. if she gets super mad i'll just erase the beard and some feathers. but only then will i change it.

I have a breed thats somewhat similar but at the same time nothing like the hototos no one has said anything about them but hey if they did i know enough about them to defend my original breed.

you know the more i think about it there's two things i can feel.
1) a bit mad they don;t see the differences
and
2) glad that at least they are concerned enough about another's work to care and make sure it isn't copied.
now just to be sure the 2nd option is reassured not to need to worry about this foal.

you do have some notable differences, but i just wanted to make sure you had an arguement when people come around saying that xD Personally i wish i had ponts to bid on this, but i am saving, it has my most favorite colors on it haha!

with all the 'copywriting' of made up breeds, it's hard to make any random design without being jumped on for it looking like some other da breed.

It does remind of a Hototo... 
But you can easily fix it not to become a Hototo. Skip the draft type and make it lighter as a warmblood or something like that. Then it would look less like a Hototo...
It's very risky to combine draft, stripes and sparkles... that makes people think of Hototo's right away... no matter the design

you have a very lovely breed and i'd love to draw fan art of them sometime. but (other than this morning after people kept saying i copied your horses) i haven't looked at your breed sheets or any hototos in a very long time. plus this was part made by my friend who has no way of even knowing what a hototo is (no da account for her) so i can guarantee this wasn't based on your breed.
i hope you won't take this offensively and not get angry with me.
