Description
Saudade (Portuguese): “ referring to the feeling of longing for something or someone that you love and which is lost.”As kids, we always see Minnie and Mickey always happy together. Growing up, maybe they were the perfect couple. In reality, though, it may not always be like that. The perfect couple would one day part ways, find their own life partners, live separate, possibly fulfilling lives—and at what price? Possibly never knowing what life would've been like with the most perfect person for them.
Here we see Minnie and Mickey, looking painfully at each other. Minnie ends up with Pete, Mickey's uglier and fatter anti-friend. Mickey ends up with Daisy, Minnie's best friend. Once upon a time ago, they found love and lost it.

This is a painting I made for a UNIQLO event this Thursday and Friday, they're going to exhibit different student artists and wanted their UT shirts, combined with "streetlife" and "edgy" for the paintings, they didn't give other details than that.
They only approved me last monday, so I only had two days to paint this, so forgive me if there are some things displeasing to the eye.

there is nothing displeasing in this painting. the texture and the facial expressions, so moving. however the purple building, though it echoes the cartoon theme of mickey mouse as well as adding interest to the background, i personally would have continued the shades of blue for the expression of grief, depression and regret. dont take this too seriously, just something to think about i suppose cause this really is just so impressive

That's true, I'm never one for backgrounds (in fact I did that last—haha!). Yes, you have a point, maybe I should have continued in shades of blue—although the building's colours, I mean, what I wanted, was to represent maybe the reason why they left.

Unfortunately, this isn't one of UNIQLO's designs. I just painted for them to have this on display while their event was going on. Touched that you would wear this if ever, though!
