Its hard not to like this guy - actor, wrestler, muscle man and an allround entertainer - sure he has made some bad choices with the movies he stars in - but dont we all
comes across as an allround nice guy 
Another drawing for my son - one of his biggest fans
Drawn on my usual bristol board smooth paper with a range of Faber-Castell 9000 pencils (just thought I would mention that in case they want to send me some free samples
) and Staedler Mars Lumograph 8B for the black background - Mono Zero erazer and plenty of time circa25 hours.Hope you like itΒ

Strange question: do you find the 9000 erasing differently than the Goldfaber? I've done some tests on various papers including bristol and for some reason I find the Goldfaber's erasing much better than the 9000s, which would seem to be more versatile for correcting mistakes.
BTW, I like how you accounted for the shift in focus from the ear to the face.

No a strange question at all - in fact a very interesting one for me. Β I have never used Goldfaber - so I cannot compare, but I will definitely go and buy some Goldfaber's pencils to see if they work better - always looking for new materials so thanks

Well, they're both Faber-Castell, but the Goldfaber (blue & gold) seems to be the cheaper versions but they've erased better than the 9000s, so I was wondering if you'd tried them and found one to be preferable to the other.

Awesome! I'm a really big fan of Dwayne Johnson. Not just as an actor but as a person too. Β He rocks(no pun intended).
I enjoyed most of the films he started in. The Fast and Furious movies he started were awesome and G.I Joe Retaliation was kind of fun. I know that there are other movies he started in that were also good but The Fast and Furious movies are the ones I remember him the most and I can't wait for the next installment Furious 7.Β

I know what you mean. When I heard about Walker's tragic death it actually shocked me. He was so young.
It's a good thing that his brothers are gonna help finish the film. It's surprisingly kind of them.

Thanks i worked hard to achieve the effect, i prefer male portraits mainly because someone hasnt 'air brushed' all the imperfections away as they tend to do on women

That facial hair is amazing. Got any tips to drawing that?

Facial hair - remember that there is skin tone underneath, so I usually draw the skin 'bald' first and then add the hair on afterwards, try adding layers using different pencil hardness (4H through to 8B) a few sharp eraser marks for grey hairs and try to add the odd very sharp very black hair at the end for contrast.
