Description Indy Art - abtr.

Three magic spirals. The spiral simbolizes strenght, evolution and creation in almost every culture. It represents the constant movement from an origin to the infinite. The same principle can be applied to DA. It that's why I choose this magic element.

Happy birthday!

mmm more threes....

I love the depth given by the darkend shadows of reds... lovely, like the glow of dimmed lights.

Nice.

The sybolism is intriguing and i love it's simplicity and the colours used, i guess lol that i'm very fascinated in spirals myself 3 is an number that gives an enigma over it too!
It's funny too that at our museum for the arts in my town we have an hugh spiral made by a famous swede,
unfortunat i don't remember his name now, the spirals name is "Spiral Åtbörd" = Gestured Spiral or something

Hi Mikael!
Thank you very, very much. Yes, spiralsl are quite fascinating, indeed.
That sounds really interesting! I must visit that museum next time. I'm sure I'll return to Sweden one of these days.

what did you do this with ?
I'd have used Illustrator and photoshop (but thats just me!)

Paula-Rosa In reply to pdtnc [2003-12-27 23:13:51 +0000 UTC]

Hi! Thanks again!
I used Corel draw, photoshop and some acrylic ink.
I never used illustrator. Maybe I should try it.

nice. Creates a nice pattern and has a really authentic look on it wich i like. Something i could have in my home if i dared touch magic. Though, this seems to only have good things in it right?

I like this kind of graphically bold type of design, the warm colours and the bold black and white. I was looking at the spirals and the bottom two twirl round in that the middle spiral turned on itself 180 degrees becomes the bottom one.. however the top spiral is a horizontal flip of the middle one. I love the boldness and this would make an excellent piece of art for a long stairwell.

Me personally I'd do another one like this but have four swirls each at 90 degree turns to display the full spiral evolution. This is the kind of art that will be furnishing my future living spaces when I'm richer and have my own home.. I need to graduate from student life first

Hi! Thank you so much! Yes, I like this kind of Art too. I've some acrylic paints on my walls, all over the house. They're so big! you can imagine the impact they cause on my totally white walls. It's amazing how spirals can be so magical.

Wish you good luck for your studies.
Thank you!

Paula-Rosa In reply to CariocaLx [2003-09-12 15:37:59 +0000 UTC]

Obrigada!

Yes, this one spoke to me right off the bat but I could not think of anything to say. Still cannot quite capture what I like most. The spiral has been one of the only symbols that ever occurs within my own pieces (well, consciously, at least) and you have represented it quite well. Threw me off with the bottom two. You really know your way around that photoshop.

Good good good!

what medium did you use here?
is this digital? traditional? mix?
i really love the color combination as well.
the shadows, the lighting,...looks like photos
of objects against a wall. don't know.
very eye catching.

I LOVE the composition! I think you're having some problems with the JPEG compression in corel because the whole thing looks a bit jagged in fullview (the circles).

Check the settings in corel so you can tweak the compression
