What if the heroes of the 31st century were inspired by Wonder Woman and NOT Superman? What if an immortal ancestor of today's Wonder Woman had a place on the roster of The Legion of Super Heroes? What if...?Here's my thoughts; if she was made from the clay of the Earth, why not have that clay be from all over the Earth, have her be a true amalgam of Earth's races, creeds and ethnicities, a true global representative, powered by the mythologies of multiple belief systems? Plus, have her lasso be telekinetically controlled.

I do like this concept for a future Wonder Woman. I do think trying to at least make her into a mix of all the earths races would be good. I do think that yes the thing about her being powered by multiple belief systems could be a bit tricky though. I do think that having her be able to speak every known language though could work.

THIS is the Wonder Woman I'd be glad for my daughter(s) to emulate. THIS is a Wonder Woman I would've pretended to be when I was a little girl - instead I was Rambo's sister spending my afternoons behind enemy lines rescuing P.O.W.s.
An interesting little tid-bit: the amazons of history wore pants. Dear DC: please evolve with the times and give us a female hero our daughters deserve... there are enough pin-ups and bombshells already.

I love this picture so much, but I don't get why she has to be powered by multiple belief systems, especially since many of them conflict with each other. What's wrong with the Greek pantheon or a made up Amazon mythology based on the Greek one? Yes I get that she is the descendent of Princess Diana, but there is still no reason why she has to represent every belief system in the world. Still I love this picture and all the rest of your work and commenting on your work made me think that I should come up with my own mythology for the Amazons of the DCU.

Your idea would probably be a simpler and more direct way to have her origin work, honestly. In looking back at it, my idea IS a bit convoluted and needlessly complicated. : )

Just FYI, there was an DC tradmarked, Egyptian based WonderWoman-counterpart named Nubia, from back in the 70's (she made a brief cameo in the 80's, as well). Diana always referred to her as an ally and sister-in-arms...might be worth looking into?

Love the design. One of my favorite pieces of work was Alan Davis' Superboy and the Legion of Super Heroes where he made the effort to make many of the characters decidedly NOT Caucasian. This reminds me of that. Great work as usual.

Ah yeah, Sprouse knocked it out of the park. I loved the designs and the way he kept the classic style of the individual Legionnaires while updating and streamlining the look. Great stuff.
