I think Elefant had MG-34 for defense but the Ferdinand didnt have it.

yep, Ferdinand don't have it. because ferdinand was first version of tank, Elefant was his modified version.

Yes they are. The Ferdinand (even the Porsche Tiger) had big problems with overheating engines and transmission. Thus those huge vents were needed to make the vehicle operational. The dual-engine system just wasn't ready for use at the time it was built in.

Those are bolts which were supposed to give the 220 mm thick front armour extra strength.
