Description
"Ferdinand" (German Ferdinand) - German heavy self-propelled artillery unit (SAU) during World War II class destroyers tanks. Also called "Elephant" (German Elefant - elephant), 8,8 cm PaK 43 / 2 Sfl L/71 Panzerjäger Tiger (P), Sturmgeschütz mit 8,8 cm PaK 43 / 2 and Sd.Kfz.184. This fighting vehicle, armed with 88-mm gun, is one of the most heavily armed and powerful representatives of the German armored vehicle of the period.Related content

I think Elefant had MG-34 for defense but the Ferdinand didnt have it.

yep, Ferdinand don't have it. because ferdinand was first version of tank, Elefant was his modified version.

Yes they are. The Ferdinand (even the Porsche Tiger) had big problems with overheating engines and transmission. Thus those huge vents were needed to make the vehicle operational. The dual-engine system just wasn't ready for use at the time it was built in.

Those are bolts which were supposed to give the 220 mm thick front armour extra strength.
