Description
Lions. Undeniable impressive, intimidating, and even in captivity they are very much wild, untameable beasts. A chance-shot where this chap walked close enough whilst growling for me to snap off this shot. Awe-inspiring animals.Shot through a (toughened!) glass window at Colchester Zoo, UK.
Look at him. Sheer malice. What is he thinking?

I don't think he wants to eat anyone! I think he wants to make sure you get his good side. That and he wants an offering of wild warthog boar...in a lemon dill sauce, with an appetizer of fried meerkat nuggets with chunky ranch dressing. And chilled monkey brains for dessert! -*from temple of dooooom*-

Poor thing. I'm torn on the zoo issue. Lions have ranges extending into the tens or hundreds of kilometres. Is it fair to keep them in a cage? (However big it is. Colchester is very good for that.)
