Captain's Log: I have many reservations about Starfleet's decision to refit the USS Yorkshire. The bridge layout is reminiscent of an older class starship, but the powers that be have said given the Federations precarious position, a more diplomatic appearance is required. I grudging agreed given the lay out of the Defiant Class is very war like in appearance. Though I must say this new uniform is much more comfortable and appealing than the dark colours and militaristic appearance of just a few years ago.

For my current task, a derelict starship has been found just outside the Breen area of space. Sensors have declared it to be identical to one of the ships lost during the Borg's final assault on the Alpha sector.

My former academy roommate and now colleague Captain Amaltheia; is taking a team of engineers and small command crew to board the ship and if possible bring it back into service. If her team is able and the ship is functional, we are to escort her back to the nearest Star Dock for needed repairs.

Before Amaltheia left she held me a hug and whispered, "You mean more to me than ever my friend.” She kissed my cheek and departed for her new command.

And damn her (joking of course) I walked the rest of the day throughout my ship, everyone looking strangely at me; I had her bright red lipstick on my check, not even my XO said anything.
