Okay so first of all, I'm really not to pleased with the background. Why? Well I prefer making backgrounds from scrath in PS but the fact remains is that I suck at BGs in PS and any GOOD background I've ever done I had a refrence to work off >>; That and I just feel terribly lazy today. So instead I used a photograph I had and just ran it through one of the filters in PS -___-; For some odd reason that makes me feel bad.Anyway this is a picture of a Lucario father who's trying to have a serious talk time with his son when all the little Riolu wants to do is play and have some fun.
The photo itself was taken last year (*Summer 2005*) at Clumber Park, near Worksop. This picture with the original photobrackground can be found here.

This is a great piece of artwork, you really show how the pokemon are feeling with expressions and body language, its very good.

The background is nice. It reminds me of a very old cartoon seiries I used to watch... I can't remember what it was called but it was all about this girl called Dot who lived in Austrial and could talk to the local wild life. The background in those were shots of the outback and the characters were added on. I used to love that cartoon and this has a simmilar feel to it. The seirius face of the father is very nice. He so depretly wants to show his son how the outside world can be dangerus and as a Pokemon that isn't too common he will face being taken away or loosing him. But at the same time you get the feeling he just wants to play with his son while he can.
The Riolu is so cute! Not a care in the world. Aww, doesn't he just beg to be hugged?!

Ooooh, that show sounds familiar, I think I may have watched it a few times when I was younger too, or at least I remember an animated show based in Australia that used real life backgrounds XD
I think the slight inspiration for this picture was kind of an idea spawned from someone I was talking too mentioning the Lion King at the time and so I kinda liken the reletionship between this Lucario and Riolu as being similar to that of between Mufasa and Simba 8D Father and son things are really sweet and I was told that theme is actually become quite common for Lucario and Riolu pictures, despite the short time Riolu has been about XD
And yes~ Riolu looks very hugabble X3 I can't wait to get one on my Pearl game once the games come out in English~

Peal or Dimond I wonder? I may get both. I'm after the large black Pokemon which is found In Dimond but if Riolu is there too... Hm... Which version will have Vulpix?

For Vulpix you can get it in both Diamond and Pearl BUT there's a catch, Vulpix only appears in route 209 when you have the PokΓ©mon Leaf Green game in the GBA slot in the DS. Different GBA games unlock different pokΓ©mon :3 Other than that you can also transfer a Vulpix over if you have it on a previous game in a place called "Pal Park"

I'm definintly getting pearl when it comes out in the US, someone is gonna see if they can get a shop near them to import the games. I might get Diamond when the games come out in the UK, though i'm not sure cos there are many ways you can get unobtaniable pokΓ©mon, since you can trade with friends all over the world via the Wi-fi feature.

There's nothing wrong with using photos for BGs! I like what you've done to it, it makes it look very interesting! It's a really cute picture too! You coloured it all prettiful like!
