Lets settle this the easy way, we all can agree Charlene and Brittany look a lot alike; it's because they are the same Chipette just redesigned, c'mon which design look more appropriate for kids. That's why she was only shown once with that design because the show was for kids, so please there is no debate on who she is because she is the same Chipette. But seriously imagine Jeanette and Eleanor designs if they kept Charlene design, it wouldn't even be a kids show lets be honest

You know I gotta say since I heard almost mostly the chipettes and the chipmunks I had discovered their were rumors that a another chipette namedΒ Charlene was the first girlfriend of Alvin and I was like.... "Wait wait wait so you're telling me that Alvin had a girlfriend during the 80's?" but then I searched up and bam! it came real and it was NOT fake.

She appeared on a Chipmunk song before the Chipettes were created. She hasn't appeared on anything since. The female chipmunk featured on this collage I made is probably just Brittany. For some reason, almost everyone thought it was Charlene, but it was never officially confirmed that it was Charlene. Since it hasn't been confirmed, we don't really have any reason to believe it's Charlene.Β
So yeah, it's Brittany, unless we somehow hear otherwise. I screwed up, lol.

Well that's probably why she wasn't ever brought back. After the Chipettes were introduced, the creators probably didn't see the need for another female Chipmunk character. Charlene will always be part of the Alvin and the Chipmunk history, but I don't think her character made enough of an impression to make a comeback.

Yeah I think people have included her in fanfiction as being Brittany's rival, but I highly doubt it will ever become canon.
