She's so pretty. It's a gentle reminder that I need to get back to the anthro challenge one of these days. I really like the pose and the swirling clouds behind her. Great work.

welcomes. Sometimes poses can be troublesome to get accurate but I think you pulled it off pretty well despite the anatomical flaws ^_^

Really love the gradations of color you do in this one...! Her hair looks so pretty like this. I'm sorry the colors didn't scan right for you again, although they are lovely.

I must say, I do love the way you do the hair on this chara...she always has such amazingly colored hair!
I love how unique she is, she's just so great! and I love her expression as she looks at that gnoll..teehee, what a fun word.
hmm, as critique, I'd say you might want to create a bit more depth with the rocks. YOu've done a really great job showing the texture of the rocks and all the different rock faces, but its hard to tell if she is in a rock valley sorta thing or if she's just got two rocks behind her that are flat. So, I'd say create a bit more depth by having the forward part of the rock face be a bit darker than the back part of the rock face. I'd also make the different facets of the rock a bit more pronounced...of course, this is me getting picky! You really have gotten really really a lot better at percpective and unique backgrounds! Out of curiousity, are those clouds done with the blending marker?

I see what you mean about the soft-edged blending. It's great! Don't feel too bad about her skin tone darkening, because she looks backlit with that golden sky. The only suggestion I'd make based on this one is to make the distant cliffs more rugged, hard-edged when you do another landscape like that with cliffs. Even distant cliffs have a broken, jagged look to them. They don't have strong value differences, they get cooler and bluer and less distinct but they do still have a sharp look more than that.
Streaks of golden highlight in the cliffs and long shadows that are that purply-bluish gray would help with that. Look at photo references of cliffs and mountains carefully, especially when the mountains are in the distance. You'll see the patches of highlight and shadow on them and the way highlights will change color just after dawn and right before sunset, to be yellower. But it's a minor point in a great picture, this is more for future reference. I don't think you could do yellowish highlights after it's dried.
I think you're right. Markers are applying liquid and in essence you're painting when you use them. Which is why you're so good and I'm better with pencils. I'm still learning painting.

Try sculpting cliffs out of modeling clay, just cheap kids modeling clay, in gray or blue. Set them up on the desk, do two sets sort of facing each other. Slide your desk lamp down till it's coming in at a low angle across these little sculptures. Look at what the shadows do to the shapes and what promontories are highlighted. Then draw from it. Very often doing a kneaded eraser or modeling clay model of a background element can give really good shadows and highlights as long as you arrange your lamp to be at the angle the sun is for the art. With that color of sky, the sun is low but not quite behind the horizon.

Her bangs blowing in the wind look great. The background looks great too, how the outlines become less obvious to give that sense of depth. Nice nice!

I really like how her hair changes colors, it's so cool. *0* Nice background, too.
Oh, and I noticed Chaka's hands look a bit small, but I'm not too familiar with this character so you might have done that on purpose, huh?
