It's an onion ring! Get it? Well that was my ironic intention, anyways. This is a locket ring made using the techniques chasing/repousse, and nitric etching. I had a lot of fun making this ring, and its really lightweight and wearable. Hinges are always a pain in the butt, but this one came out flawless first time. It was my final project in Studio IV: Surfaces, but the teacher didnt really get the "onion ring" deal, because I don't think english is her first language.Related content

Since my relationship has been getting more serious, my boyfriend has been saying he only has money to buy me an onion ring... and well, haha! You don't know how much I laughed with this ring!

Agreed. I certainly wish there were more metals and ceramics and sculptures and such.... there's just so much digital stuff (not that it isnt' good of course)
When I have some time, I totally intend to add some of my own work... but for now I'll just browse and admire

Anyway >< This is an interesting idea actually. I mean i've heard of locket necklaces but not for rings. It'd be nice to keep something in it. Good idea. And its looks good. Big rings are in fashion
