OMFG! I FINALLY HAVE A PROPER ART PROGRAM AGAIN! ZOMG!!! *passes out*And since I've been watching alot of Disney Nostalgia shit to curb my boredom while I could not draw... (pencil and paper don't count cuz can't find scanner cords) Have some Jungle Book fanart.

Love this. You have really captured the characters in their expressions, Khan looking powerful and fierce while Bagheera looks thoughtful and worried. Is Khan attempting to shield Bagheera? Memories of childhood friendship or something more?

The first film Shere Khan was an Antagonist. I didn't get Villain from him at all. Yeah he wanted to kill Mowgli... but it wasn't anything personal. He hunted any Man that came into HIS jungle. The Second Jungle book... he definitely took it PERSONAL. Going from just hunting any man that went into the jungle to JUST Mowgli specifically to the point of going into the Man Village. And Revenge makes ya a villain apparently. XD
I never read the books... so not sure how he was in them.

Yeah they made a couple live actions. Though most of them the animals had no personality at all. They were just there. I only saw one live action where the animals were actually a part of the cast rather than backdrop. Granted none talked but I've seen animal movies get around that all the time... but the Jungle Book didn't seem to peek anyone but low budget film makers so didn't get very good animal trainers I guess. Have higher hopes for the new Disney Live Action one that is going to be made.
As for the books I do know they reversed Bagheera and Baloo's personalities from the book to the Disney films. Baloo was the stern teacher who thought Mowgli should be with other Man. And Bagheera was the playful trickster who wanted Mowgli to stay. I do know Shere Khan was actually a lame tiger in the books and he started killing Man after hunters killed his mother. Atleast thats what I remember what I heard of the books. We didn't have them at our schools.

It's a bit strange that they swapped the personalities in the animated one, but I suppose bears are more popular when portrayed as friendly, whereas cats are often loved even (or maybe especially) if they're grumpy.
