Before the sun touched the ground around him, Ki was up.
They were out in the open, and things were not safe within their lands.
The thunderbirds were like rabid coyotes, attacking all.
Just the previous evening he'd seen an unfortunate juvenile thunderbird,
it lost its fight. So he scanned the horizon time and time again for sign of an
approaching storm. None so far, however the canyons around him held many shadows.
He passed by a cliff, the sand crunching and sliding beneath him. This was a worn path.
A screech from below had him turning his head.
A lone thunderbird, but is was fleeing, and looked like it was struggling. It was injured.
They were safe still, but a sinking feeling in his barrel told him more would follow.
They were coming, and they were angry.
