This was originally part of a photo shoot with a professional dancer from out of state.

We really had a great time, and bonded a bit too.

There was a lot of photo and video work accomplished, and I made her a custom pair of Pointe shoes for her feet for a costume that I wanted to shoot as well (not in this one), but I'll try and submit one with the Pointe shoes I made at another time . . .
. . . (I have a number of clients that I make Pointe shoes for, and I truly love making Pointe shoes for my dancers. The greatest complement from them is when they bring them back to me very used, and worn to the point of extinction, that's when I know, I've truly made an immediate contribution to their life that has some meaning).

But this particular illustration, is a powerful visual representation for me personally.

Mostly it is, because it's an attempt to convey "some" of the emotion of what the dancers foot does for me.

So, it's a bit of a opening myself up and a showing of a fairly vulnerable side of myself (not the easiest thing for me to do sometimes, but that's part of what this project is supposed to be so, I held my breath a bit when I submitted this one).

I hope it evokes an emotional response from you as well.
