Description
The Japanese maritime museum is usually called the Yamato Museum because of the giant detailed model of the Japanese Super Battleship which looks like a room was built around. The museum also has shipping displays and even a hands on large science/physics room where you can learn about the process and concepts of giant ships. The models of the military ships and actual artifacts take justifiable center stage. There is a certain aesthetic sense to Japanese ship designs that make them look beautifully unique. I have to admit, as I was on the train to Kure and then again riding along rt 31 looking out on the bay and the Seto Inland sea, I imagined seeing these giant behemoths heading out to sea.
