Description
The Yamato as she sits in the bottom of the ocean.
She sank after multiple attacks by US carrier borne fighters on April 7, 1945 at 1420 when her forward magazines exploded as she capsized. Less than 300 of the 3,332 crew survived.
In 2017, the Kure/Yamato shipping museum had a special presentation which was centered on revisiting the wreckage.
