Wonderful image. I love the rough texture on the solids and the silky smooth liquid. Wish I had taken that!!!

Great picture, the detail is amazing. It spretty abstract too, I thought it was a sheet of moulded plastic at first. Really nice photo

Beach, sand, water and long exposure I presume. Good recipe for this nice picture that shows us on one hand the texture of the sand and on the other and hides us water wavelets. Well done

Thank you, so much! Not a long exposure

So perhaps it wasn't it pure water or one other liquid ???

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pedroinacio In reply to azrim [2007-09-07 21:26:08 +0000 UTC]

Yes, pure water alright. This kind of capture gives a sense of metal liquid to the water. And only with the usual editing
These are my "rayograms"

It is a very interesting and Zen-like image in my opinion. I was interested in the metering technique you used for this. I assume it was taken at night under moonlight, with a long exposure, probably something like 10 minutes.

I'm asking because I had something similar in my mind but I'm struggling with the technical details

Anyway, keep up the great work!

In fact this photo was made in daylight at 1/30 seconds or so. This photos are hard to get right because of the random reflections and flares.

adyus In reply to pedroinacio [2007-07-19 11:51:17 +0000 UTC]

Well that was unexpected The secret must be in the printing/post processing cause that's definitely not typical of daylight

I'll take note of that and be more observant of stuff around me.

Sorry to disappoint, but this images have little editing, the secret remains in the capture

I like the texture of the stone and of the water.
Split toning is fine too.

I can't wait for the complet "The Blue Series"

I'm afraid that the complete series don't exist. Not now, maybe never, but I believe some more will see the light.

Well, I read my devwatch in the wrong way.
I started by the last dev instead of the first, so I though it was the first of the serie and the other weren't post and shot yet :/

Anyway it still remains a great shot and postprod

pedroinacio In reply to Le-Kwi [2007-06-11 23:01:52 +0000 UTC]

No prob at all
In fact I started this series in January, numbered some images and later abandoned a few. So maybe some numbers, in between, will never exist. At this time, I really don't know.

can you tell me something about the photoshop work you did in this series?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pedroinacio In reply to MatthiasHaltenhof [2007-06-10 21:39:44 +0000 UTC]

Almost nothing, really. This is an unmanipulated image, hard to believe, I know.
The little secret is on the capture, only, but still a secret.
I use desaturate (primitive I know), slightly darken the grays, a gradient map for toning, and USM of course, that's all. Cheers and thanks.
