Description
A Night in Fantasia program book. The right side is front cover and left side is back cover.Was halfway through colouring in when I realised that the top of the cello and the bridge are completely disproportioned. No way I was going to redraw on paper because I'd have to start from scratch with cleaning up and colouring in, so I used the pencil tool in Painter to fix it. Hopefully it won't look too obvious in print.
Background is tentative. Not sure if I'm going with this; could try and do something better but I don't know what. I accidentally saved over the file and killed the layers and now I can't edit it. D:
Don't know how I should place the text...

I think the bg looks fine plain cause depending on wat you put it might make it look to 'busy' kind of thing. With text maybe a umm.. how to say it... i was going to say flowery but i don't think that's right... you know the kind of caligraphic ones thats all curvy with lil lines going everywhere. 
But i don't know

i suck at drawing inanimate objects. so more power to you for drawing a huge instrument, even without the minor details.
i personally like the minimalistic format. it draws attention to the drawing. i'm not too sure about the font and its placement. if i made this cover, i would use a font that has big, round letters and set a bit of spot glow to match the outer glow of the picture.
for the font style i have in mind go here and check out Catholic School Girls, Pneumatics, and Quarterly.

Wish I had the time and energy to draw the cello properly with the details though. The picture simple as it is already took me hours and hours to fix...
And yeah, I'm going to play around with the text a bit more. Can't do anything about the font because it's a logo and I can only manipulate the scale and placement. I was told that I don't even need to put any text on the cover but thought I'd just put the title there so people actually know what the book is for. Plus it looks better with some form of text. XD

ah, i see. well, maybe just having a soft, spotted outerglow should do. either that or make it semi-transparent to fill up the blank space.

The background looks really nice even though you say you didn't know what to do with it. :3 I think anything else would have been too distracting. For the text, I would suggest just playing around with the placement...maybe having it cascade down the length of her(?) wing since that is the front page, or you could be a bit more conventional and use the empty space up top for the text (although where you have it now is very nice as well).

And yes! I made the strings glow. Except they're badly drawn because I can't draw straight lines on the computer.

this is really pretty. And i'm glad you chose a cello! Cello's are one of the most beautiful sounding instruments. And the girl is very pretty too. i love her wings. It kindof reminds me of Haibane Renmei.

XD Yes, small details do tend to be forgotten sometimes (like scars for example, I always forget scars on one of my characters!).
