This was a commissioned piece for a lovely couple in California (thus the watermark--sorry!). They were a big fan of my fall piece, Flora and Fauna, pen-umbra.deviantart.com/art/F⦠and asked for a spring version for their recent wedding. They both play the ukelele, which I love.I try my best to push myself with each new piece and in this one, it was the waterfall and willow tree that really gave me a run for my money. I had sketched them both out without really thinking of the logistics of making them out of paper. The waterfall had to be remade 3 times before achieving the desired results.
And yeah, I'm totally planning a winter and summer one now too.

Question: How long did this take you to make? I imagine at least one week just for cutting all of this.

Thank you! I don't really remember how long it took (it was a while ago), but it was less time that I thought it would. I think your estimate of a week is about right.

Thanks! The willow tree was definitely a lot of work, but it was the only thing that didn't change from my first sketch. I knew how I wanted it to look.
