Dept: Louisiana Police Department
Reporting officer: Head Detective Joseph Meraux
Offense: Homicide, first degree mass murder
Item Description: A cloth doll stuffed with straw and covered stitches. The face is sewn on with yarn and there is heavy damage to the doll from sharp objects and large nails.
Case report: Multiple victims found murdered in bizarre and violent fashion at the Lebeau Mansion casino. The primary victim related to this piece of evidence was originally declared to have committed suicide based upon the location of the wounds and the lack of evidence of a struggle or other persons present at the scene. However it has been estimated that the victim was in a state of high tension and the positioning of the body leads many to believe they were trying to fight or flee from something when they died.
Witness report: The sole surviving witness claims that the victim did indeed die from self inflicted injury, but they did not kill themselves intentionally. They were actually attempting to capture the doll, which has been named "Kalfu" reportedly. They claim that the victim was scared of the doll when it began to move around on it's own, and initially tried to destroy it. But upon damaging the doll, the victim spontaneously suffered identical wounds to those inflicted on the doll.
They then proceeded to chase the doll through the manor, trying to capture it and contain it before anything else could happen to the doll which was on a suicidal rampage. It stabbed and cut itself, crippling and maiming the victim as they crawled after it. The doll finally tried to leap into a fire which caused the victim to lunge in and pull them out. Blood loss and trauma eventually made the victim too weak to move and they watched helplessly as the witness killed them by impaling the doll in self defense.
