A show about friendship and I hardly see friendship! And now they ditched letters too!wut
I mixed the episode 'Family appreciation day' (DAT GRANNY SMITH) with the dialoge of 'Cutie mark Chronicles' when the main 6 find out they got their cutiemarks thanks to Rainbow Dash.
I just want everyone to be friends. I dislike obnoxiously written bullies only to punish them for that behaviour so viewers can go 'haha'. Unmotivated nastiness or random sudden friendship? Guess which I like more.
And it wouldn't be too strange. AppleBloom dumped Twist when she got a cutiemark, only to replace her with two other whom she befriended just because they too don't have their cutiemarks.
Edit: No, I didn't plan this comic to be in-character. It was criticism on a way characters are written and the premise of the show. Plus an in-joke...two in-jokes. The letter thing is just a joke too.
(No effort-comic, I know. I was working on something I was pretty proud of and I did something which ment I had to do it all over. A bit sad so I made this quicky.)

I too hate bully characters that are like that. (Buford from Phineas and Ferb is a good example of a well done bully.)(Still, I love Diamond Tiara and she's adorable here. actually, she's always adorable.)
Actually, if I'm correct, I think Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara are frenemies. I mean, Diamond isn't being that mean to her (heck, I've been haggled worse by bullies when I was young) and her insults, again, aren't strong ones. (Hinging more on her lack of cutie mark.)
Though, the frenemies angle comes along with the whole 'Invite her to my 'cutie mark party which I forgot the spelling of'. Yeah, she could have done that to just show off, but you don't just invite someone you hate over.
But the biggest one goes to the fact is this episode. Apple Bloom actually seems happy to see Diamond and she even listens to her.
The second fact that makes me love this comic, is that I can totally see them becoming the best of friends when they get older, what with Diamond getting involved in her father's business and Apple Bloom working more on the farm. Diamond will most definitely grow out of her habits, I mean look at her father. He's a nice guy.
(As well as her friends will probably move out of town. Sweetie Belle to pursue her singing career (let's be honest, it's true) will probably either roam around or stay mostly in Canterlot.
Scootaloo will definitely try and follow her idol and become a wonderbolt.)

I agree, I agree! I always prefer scenarios where the villain is redeemable, because in real life, EVERYONE should have a chance at redemption. I hate revenge plotlines where the writer is obviously working through some bitterness from 3rd grade. Especially in a show about the power of friendship.

Indeed! I would made less of a problem if it wasn't contradicting the whole meaning of the show. Sadly, I have...actually hardly seen much of that, even besides bully-bullying. I understand people may find G3 less entertaining, but it is more satisfying for me. I want to feel happy and fuzzy after watching MLP, not sad or offended.

I was so mad when they cut Dudley's redemption scene out of The Deathly Hallows, despite them having two whole movies to show it. It was especially painful for me, because it was one of the things in that book I saw coming since the 5th book. I mean, it was on the DVD, but still.
Seeing a bully change and even apologize sincerely to their victims is so much more satisfying than just watching them get their asses kicked by karma only to learn nothing or even become worse bullies out of revenge.

The fandom did quite a successfull job redeeming Gilda, Trixie and Blueblood while letting them remain the jerkish characters they are. Y'know, I'm ok with a character being a bully, but I would like it to be less empty so that one can still have fun with a character. But that might be asking too much, seeing how the CMC's themselves are remaining a bit hollow in comparisment with our main 6. That's where the fandom comes in.

Sadly, you are right about how come Applebloom dumped Twist for two new friends. How come? Well perhaps they were together before because of their "blank flanks" and since Twist get her, Applebloom wasn't feeling as connected with her as much as she is with two other fillies with the same situation. Poor Twist.
But still... let's blame the writers. Not all kids are angels.

How is it that I can tell you haven't ever paid attention to girls' cartoons before FIM? Is it that your comment is full of biased nonsense? ...Yes, yes it is.
To quote the artist's reaction to a fellow with a similar misguided view on the content of grils' cartoons:
"Unusual for a girls' show? What? That is like the main theme for a girls' shows (on account of girls' show dealing with relations, not on account that boys' shows are any wiser). Monster High, BraceFace, Winx, W.I.T.C.H, As told by Ginger, Jem, Totally Spies etc."

Firstly, I said 'little girl's cartoon'. There's a distinction. Because aside from Winx and W.I.T.C.H, (Which I was not at all impressed with) I would consider all those other ones to be aimed at older audiences. And I, as a young teen, watched and enjoyed most of those.
However, MLP has always been aimed at the 'Dora the explorer' type age-group. In which you would expect a happy, feel-good, nonsensical, everyone gets along now type ending. I was simply pointing out that they chose to put in the effort to make the ending more realistic instead of more politically correct.

Perhaps not biased, but I'm curious then what other little girls' cartoons you are talking about in your comparison. In Winx, emnimities are pretty brutal and tend to not get resolved. WITCH I'm not sure of. Dora the Explorer is actually a younger audience than MLP and also not a cartoon in the usual sense. So, what's left then? The other MLP cartoons? Because they might be unrealistically kinder, they are also less one-dimensional in 'protagonist/audience-by-proxy = good, antagonist/others-by-proxy = bad'-thinking. FIM's way of dealing with "mean people" does discourage self-reflection in interaction with people not firmly in the friend-sphere. The artist is currently working on a follow-up comic to point out some "I vs You"-bias this episode rides on. I don't mind characters staying enemies, but I do hate when a show commands me to dislike and laugh at the expense of a character that isn't actually a worse person than the protagonists.
