Around this time last year, I watched and finished Breaking Bad for the first time after my best friend suggested I watch it (I wanted to get into for some years since the series ended but kept putting it off) and I LOVED IT, and I started working on this to combine my love for birds with my then-newfound love for BB. Now, a year later, my younger sister started and recently finished the series herself, and her watching it spurred me to return to this piece and complete it!
Most of the characters’ species were my idea, but I did ask for suggestions for friends when I needed help deciding what type of parrot Saul Goodman should be, and originally Hank wasn’t included but when I asked my friend group at MFF 2022 what Hank should be if he was to be included, our friend Smash suggested a bald eagle since Hank works for the DEA and it’s kind of AMERICAcore and also BALD eagle LOL. Tuco was also not to be included originally, but after watching BB with my sister during her first viewing I got the idea to add him when I realized his name sounds like toucan LMAO and I knew then that I HAD to add him.

Walt and Mike were the easiest species for me to come up with because BALD. I went with a roadrunner for Jesse because idk he just kinda looks like he’d be one, and also roadrunners are the state bird of New Mexico in which BB takes place. I forgot what I originally intended Gus to be, but I ended up going with a domestic chicken breed on account of him owning a chain of chicken-centric restaurants.
