Description
So, it's the 15th anniversary of the release of Sly 2: Band of Thieves, one of my all-time favorite video games and the source of my favorite fictional character, Arpeggio!

This was fun to work on, even though it took a lot more effort than my last full digital piece. It's also two images in one, so of course that doubled the time and effort put into this piece. I also love playing with lighting, mostly with moonlit scenes but it was fun to revisit and try my hand at a sunset again. Also, the doves took a lot of time. They're technically additional characters and inking and coloring a single character takes me more time than rendering the setting. Oh, and the doves depicted here are Eurasian collared doves As Arpeggio is British, I wanted to use a species native to the region. I actually drew a Eurasian collared dove years ago for an art trade, but I had to research photos for reference again since it's been a while.

This piece is sort of a reinterpretation of an old piece of Arpeggio fan art I made back in 2015 (Keep On Dreaming ). While the general idea of both pieces is the same (him thinking about being able to fly), they are different in style, setting, and emotion. I intended this one to be "sadder" because, well, it's Arpeggio, and he's a miserable little parrot man
